I'm Trading In

So Saturday night when I got home from work, I was walking down the hallway to get to my front door and the closer I got, the more it smelled like animal poop. Of course the first thing that comes to mind is, "If that stinkin' cat pooped on the carpet, I'm gonna..." But then, as soon as I get inside, and close the door, the smell goes away. So I go back outside and it is back and in full force. Whoa Nellie! And then my eye catches the pile of half dried dog poop on the sidewalk. On the sidewalk!! I could have stepped in that for crying out loud!!! And the smell is permeating just in my hallway because it's all enclosed and there is no breeze to come and whisk it away. So I get my outdoor broom and half successfully sweep it into our little rock courtyard which only makes the smell worse. Grrrr....

Sunday morning I get up and leave for church and guess what I find? Yeah. Fresh little pile of some nasty dog's poop...on the sidewalk again. Can you picture the scene? Here I am standing in my heels all dressed up, staring at a pile of dog poop saying to no one in particular, "Seriously? Oh my gosh! This is so disgusting! Ugh!" and then I walk/stomp (because it's not so easy to stomp in heels) off halfway across the parking lot to my car with a look of pure annoyance on my face.

So I'm trading in dog poop on the sidewalk, mosquitos in the plumbing, weird neighbors, and late night treks across the parking lot for this:

And just so you know, the pictures do not lie...it really is that dang cute. Of course, all of this really nice furniture will not be staying, but did you see the backyard? Go back and look...
...nice huh? It's about as official as official can be I guess. I'm no genius when it comes to buying a house, but the inspection is on Wednesday morning and as long as I don't back out, this puppy is m-i-n-e. We will close on the 24th so I can move on the 26th.
And as soon as I get the old lady smell out of the house, we are having a party and everyone in the entire world is invited...except the person that let their dog poop on the sidewalk and didn't clean it up.

The house looks darling! I can see why you fell in love with it. Can't wait to see it in person.

My word verification is twzet which is "the state of keeping your fingers crossed for good luck."

Seriously! Dog Poop! So gross, you should complain to management - even if you are trading in. I wish I could be there for the party :)

Very cute house!! I'm excited for you! I really hate the whole process of buying a house... it's so stressful! Good luck with it all! We can both move into our houses the end of July whoohooo!!

Loved the dog poop post! So typical apartment life! And yes, for all of you who haven't seen that cute little house yet ... the pictures don't do it full justice. It's far, far, far, far, far cuter in person! Go Rhia Jean, go! Best of all, though, I loved the part about the ONE person who won't be invited to the house warming!

P.S. My word verification is bdgivbz. That's computer lingo for, "who let their dog poop on my sidewalk?!!"

Ok, so I was thinking to myself, "I heart that back yard," and then you talked about how great it was, and I thought, "That Rhia Jean, she's got nice taste." :) I love it! It's the perfect little house that will be easy to cool and heat without the outrageous electric bill (it's what I think about when I look at houses--I'm just sayin'--score!)

SOOO CUTE! Congrats!
You should stage a stake-out and get the owner of that dog. The dog, not so much, it's not his fault his ignorant owner was too lazy to take him all the way (what, like 20 extra feet?) to the grass. You should boo the owner. And shake your fist.

Rhia, that's a cute house. I'm proud of you. I don't even know you and you're growing up so fast :...)

Drink a cold root beer from a glass bottle for me at your party. Or not, either way is good.

I am jealous. It's way cuter than our house. When you said to go back and see the picture of the backyard, I did. It's cuter the second look. I am so happy for you. I can't wait to come visit you and see the house. Rock on.

How fun! Congratulations on that darling, fantastic house. It looks like it was just waiting for you to find it . . . a perfect Rhia Jean home! The yard is great. Yay! I hope you wait to have your party until we get there! We are moving into our house a week or so later! Hooray for new houses!

You house is super cute! I'm so jealous. I can't wait to see it up close and personal. We are so chillin on your porch this summer.

As for the poo, I feel your pain. Someone in our neighborhood has taken a personal effort to dump trash all over our driveway every morning for the last like month. I swear I am gonna stake it out and chase them and throw the crap back at their car. It's obviously that they stop their car right in front of our house every morning and afternoon on the ay in and out of the alley and clean the trash out of their car by throwing it in our driveway. GRRRRRR! WHITE TRASH. I just want the chance to scream it at them as I throw their take out back at them.

Congratulations Rhia Jean! I love it! It's got your name written all over it. I'll keep my fingers crossed that everything continues to go well!

Could it possibly be any cuter? You'll get to decorate the whole place, paint the walls any color you want and NOT be stalked by your weirdo neighbors! Congrats!

The house looks perfect. I LOVE the look of the kitchen. What a big day!

SO CUTE!!!

On the poo front, one of my neighbors witnessed another neighbor bringing her dog to the OTHER neighbor's yard to poop. WHAT THE HECK!?!?!

I said it on facebook, but now that I've seen more pictures, you really have an adorable home, AND, I remember seeing it when doing home searches and wondering if it was as cute on the inside as the outside. Glad to see it's true!
