Goin' Home

Tonight I went over to my parent's house. I don't get over there as often as I would like sometimes because it takes me about an hour to get down to good ol' Red Oak and on top of that, there is traffic...yucky blucky traffic with all of the people that live in the suburbs and work in the city. After a perfectly craptastic weekend (no, I won't go into details on the blog), I was still suffering the side effects yesterday and a little bit today. The closer I got to my parent's house, the better I felt. We didn't do anything special...just the usual: my dad shows me all of the funny e-mail forwards he has received in the last month or so, my mom asks me if I need any Avon, we discuss the cat and share funny cat stories, my dad shows me the work he has done in the yard, we talk about my nieces and nephews, etc. etc. I didn't really stay long either. As I drove away though, I found myself singing along to a Queen song and smiling. So apparently I just needed to be home, even if it was just for an hour or so. :)

In other news, I met myself as an old woman today. It was kinda neat...

I'm sorry your weekend was crap. I'll send you a cyber hug: ((((((((Rhia!))))))))

That hug might not be even, it's hard to count the parenthesis on such a small screen.

I'm curious which Queen song it was. They have some wonderfully weird ones.

Oooooh! I wish you had taken a pic of the "you as an old woman" person. I am so intrigued. Also I am sad your weekend was craptastic.

Wow, your house sounds oddly like my parents house. We do not talk about cat stories, but my father does give me the run down of all the house stuff, and my mother catches me up with all of the other family members (I rarely call the siblings--if you'd had some of the conversations we've had, you would understand). It's just great to get a Mom and Dad hug. :)

Sorry your weekend sucked. Queen can make many, many people happy! "We will, we will ROCK YOU!"

My verification was rkzlcyu which means everything is ok once I see you.

Oddly the song was Fat Bottomed Girls. Which is kind of a naughty/offensive/weird song but I like to sing...Get on your bikes and ride!!!!!!

I need more information about the older you. Were you happy, healthy and wise?

Yes, I was happy, healthy, and wise. I will write a blog about it tonight...or tomorrow. It's too long to put in a comment.

I seriously rejuvinate anytime I am able to be around family. i don't know what it is, really. Maybe it's the opportunity to just unwind, be completely myself and not feel any pressure to do one thing or the other. That or knowing that they're legally bound to love me no matter what.

In any case, I'm glad you got to recharge your batteries. Fingers crossed for a better weekend this time around.
