Not One Of My Better Ideas

Well, as you all know, I love my blog...I love it even more when people read it. And the more people that read it, the more I love it. So I thought it would be a good idea to import my blog onto facebook as a note. That way, it's like one stop shopping. Sounds like a good idea right? Wrong! At least, wrong for me anyways. Some of my fb friends just don't get it. They don't get my humor and/or sarcasm and/or whininess that comes out on my blog posts because I haven't talked to them in...well...years. And let's face it, some people just don't get it period. For instance, in the post previous to this one, I wrote about my experience at Home Depot yesterday to which one of my fb friends replied:

"The women's lib movement caused this and other occurances like this. Plus did you ask them for help?"

Well, this comment irked me, so I replied:

"Ummm...I wasn't a part of the women's lib movement thanks. Nor do I think that people not being courteous to other people was caused by women wanting to be treated as people and not accessories. My problem wasn't that they didn't offer to help, it was that they stood there and waited until I didn't need it anymore to offer. It could have been a woman and I would have felt the same way."

Maybe I should have been a little nicer, but...well...I really don't care about what this person thinks of me.

Okay, and speaking of which, where have all the fun people on fb gone? I am completely bored by all the status updates about really sweet husbands and family trips and babies and how tired so and so is or what they ate for lunch...etc... Not that I don't care about all that stuff, but can't we be a little more creative? Facebook used to be fun...now it's just mundane.

I think I'm a little grumpy...maybe I should go take a nap...or read my scriptures...or something.

P.S. I have removed my blog from importing into my notes on fb...sorry, no more one stop shopping people! :(

Sorry, I found your blog from fb and I think you're hilarious, but then we're related so maybe its just genetics. But I'll stop reading if you're feeling over publicized.
PS, I totally agree about your Home depot rant.
PSS And maybe you don't want to read my blog because I talk about my baby alot... just warning you, no harsh feelings.

Anna, I'm perfectly ok with you reading my blog! Please do not stop! :) And it's not that I don't want to read about people's babies, it's just that I don't need to be notified every time they eat something or take a nap...now if they shove a pea up their nose, well, that's interesting and funny...I'm just sayin'. I need to check out your blog, what is the address to it?

Ok so I saw your "note" and I commented so I was free to see your response on that said note and I have to admit I was like YES! That says it perfectly... when someone sees you struggling whether its a man women teenager ( I would put child but really) they should offer to help, but we live in such an absorbed all about me society that people don't notice other people...
To the guys reply on FB I would have left my thoughts after yours but you removed it. Its men like that who joke about something so serious that makes me angry, granted he was probably doing just that joking, BUT would he like to be treated like a prize, that should do everything the man says? Would he like to be limited in life to one set profession, I think not, and its something I think they should all think about... sadly my FB status has been lame lately... my bad:D

At least you figured out how to import your blog to the "notes" section of FB. I'm still working on that. How was the nap?? :-) I missed you last week!

I hate it when people just don't get it and say things that show just how much of a sense of humor they DON'T have. Ugh. I heart you Rhia Jean! And I know you're not talking about my statuses, cause mine almost always rawk! ;)

I discovered the ratio of kids vs. vacations taken per year seems to run together. i.e., the more kids my friends and acquaintances have, the more vacations they take. It baffles my mind and generally pisses me off.
There must be something in the air because people in general have been ticking me off lately.

Oh sad. Once again, a technological leap is subverted by people who are dumb.

I feel the same way about facebook, though. It's really quite sad. I think all those quizzes and the twitter-like status feed were facebook's undoing.

hi rhia: don't know if you even remember me, but I read your blog periodically because I think you're witty and clever and I love it when someone can actually write! hope I'm not intruding because I'm an "old" person, and never, ever see you any more! and I agree with you about facebook...sometimes I just get really tired of all the happy, smiley, my-life-is-better-than-your-life updates! really? give me a break...NO ONE is THAT happy all the time!!! thanks for the good writing. I majored in journalism in college and was editor of my high school paper. it matters to me!
